01
Does Squarespace export to WordPress?
Partly. Squarespace produces a WordPress export file with your pages and blog posts, but it leaves out products, galleries, index and event pages, forms, and member areas, and its images are links to Squarespace servers that stop working when the plan ends. We import the export, fetch and re-host everything it skipped, and rebuild the design block for block.
02
Will my site look the same on WordPress?
Squarespace pages are made of blocks, and so are WordPress pages, so the design is rebuilt block for block on native WordPress blocks, not on a page builder. Where Squarespace has one fixed way (index pages, summary blocks), we design a pattern for you, so future pages match the old ones.
03
Will I lose rankings when I leave Squarespace?
Not if every URL is mapped. Blog slugs transfer as they are; everything else (shop, gallery, event pages) gets a one-to-one 301, crawled before and after cutover. Titles and descriptions come across in the export, and Search Console is told about the move the same day.
04
What happens to my Squarespace store?
Products, variants, and images are exported as a CSV and imported into WooCommerce; the checkout, taxes, and shipping are configured there. Order history can be archived as a CSV. The store stays open on Squarespace until cutover, with a short freeze so the last orders come across.
05
Will my images break when my Squarespace plan ends?
Not on the new site. The export only links to images on Squarespace's servers, so we fetch the originals at full resolution and re-host them in your WordPress media library, alt text kept. When the plan lapses, nothing on the new site changes.
06
What about Scheduling, Member Areas, and Email Campaigns?
Squarespace's built-in extras don't come with you. Each gets a WordPress answer before the move: a maintained plugin for scheduling or memberships, your email provider for campaigns, or a small custom plugin where nothing fits. Scoped and priced before you decide.
07
How long does a Squarespace to WordPress migration take?
One to three weeks for most sites, built beside your live Squarespace site the whole time. Page count, a store, galleries, and whether the design is rebuilt as-is or redesigned are what move it.
08
How much does it cost to move from Squarespace to WordPress?
Most sites land between $699 and $2,499, fixed after a free scope. Hosting and an optional care plan are separate and monthly. Your Squarespace plan simply lapses, and because images are re-hosted, nothing breaks when it does.
